About Us

01  Our Community

Gwinnett County Georgia is one of the most diverse counties in America, ranking 4th overall in 2020. We founded the Joy Network to build bridges across generations and cultures with literacy as our guide. Our diversity is our strength.

02  Our Mission

Our mission is to teach young people the role literacy plays in forging a connection of communication, service, leadership, and lifelong learning with the elderly.

03  Our Vision

Create a world where the generation gap between the youth and the elderly can be closed by a mutual love of reading, positive communication, and wisdom mentorship.

Core Values

The Joy Network uses literacy to foster relationships between student peers as well as with the elderly. Our programs aim to improve literacy through positive interactions with other students and aging members in the community.

I especially enjoyed serving on “Letters to Grandma.” Hearing the stories and getting to know the senior citizens was an amazing time.
